The Little Bugger is a durable, lightweight fixed blade that weighs 2.4 ounces, has an overall length of 5.75 inches, a 2.38 inch blade and full tang construction. Although slightly smaller than the above-mentioned Baja 3.0, this is one rugged solid little knife.

Similar to the Baja 3.0, the Little Bugger’s blade is manufactured from 1095HC (High Carbon).  Although there are a variety of steels on the market with superb chemical compositions, 1095HC can’t be counted out. It takes an extremely wicked edge, has great edge retention, is extremely tough and easier to sharpen than most stainless steels. 1095HC will rust if you fail to maintain your knife. The Little Bugger has a tan tumble finish and a Scandi Grind.

Unlike the drop point on the Baja 3.0, the Little Bugger is equipped with a distinctive Wharncliffe blade profile. From a utilitarian perspective, the biggest advantage of this blade profile is that it cuts with full power all the way to the point. No matter where the cutting edge makes contact, its energy is transferred directly into the material that you are cutting and consistently increases that pressure as the cut goes deeper. Not only is the Little Bugger an excellent utility knife, but this unusual suspect is also a no-nonsense self-defense tool.

You will notice “jimping” on the spine of the blade. Well-placed, it gives you a good grip during cuts that require you to back the blade up with your thumb. Don’t worry, it’s not aggressive enough to render the knife agonizing during use.

The full tang is covered with a tan textured Micarta. The textured scales give you a secure grip to remove the Little Bugger from its sheath and put it to use. Micarta is strong, durable and a favorite material that’s also used for heavy-duty survival knives. It tolerates extremes of heat and cold, resists moisture and doesn’t become brittle with age. Simply put, the Micarta handle on the Little Bugger will not wear out.

The Little Bugger is securely held in place by a tan Kydex Sheath with injection molded nylon belt clip. The sheath gives you several different mounting options. The belt clip can be mounted vertically or horizontally. It can also be looped through a backpack shoulder strap and zip tied on.

Gerber set out to make a solid compact concealed self-defense EDC knife, and it absolutely fits the bill because of its durable, slim lightweight design. If you are looking for a last-ditch self-defense knife, this a great option. This fixed blade is ready to fight!

The Ghostrike is a tough lightweight fixed blade that weighs 3.61 ounces has an overall length of 6.75 inches, a 3.25 inch blade and a skeletonized full tang. Very lightweight and slim, it is a great concealed everyday carry self-defense fixed blade.

The blade itself is a drop point with an extremely durable tip for stabbing tasks. It’s precise enough to be able to penetrate extremely well but also strong enough to take a real hard stab even into harder material. The deep finger guard / finger groove works extremely well in conjunction with the rubberized traction on the handle. It makes for a great lock up and a fantastic self-defense tool if that’s what you are looking for. The rubberized traction and the deep finger guard prevents your hand from accidentally sliding into the blade. The very simple drop point design is perfect for tactical tasks.

The 3.25 inch blade is made of 420HC is a good budget steel. 1095 HC can’t be counted out. It takes an extremely wicked edge, has great edge retention, is extremely tough and easier to sharpen than most stainless steels. It holds an edge long enough to get your tasks done without you getting frustrated because you feel like the edge is dulling all the time. The tip again is strong enough to take abuse, yet precise enough for more finer detailed cuts.

The Ghostrike is great for wood processing tasks such as feather sticks and wood shavings to build a fire and basic notching. It easily goes through cardboard with the hollow grind. The overall quality is extremely durable.

The full tang skeletonized handle is overlaid with diamond checked rubber giving you good traction. It has a deep finger groove so that when you are locked into place, it gives you great lock up in a self-defense role or simple EDC tasks (cutting rope or cardboard boxes).

However, the Ghostrike is not the best for heavy tasks in the wilderness. If you have large hands, you can only get about three fingers on the knife and your pinky will be jammed up on the handle. Also, you are unable to wrap the handle in paracord to make it more comfortable. It is a great EDC self-defense knife, but not the best outdoor knife.

The sheath is extremely well-made. Right out of the gate, it’s one of the best on the market. You are able to pull out and deploy this fixed blade lightning fast. The sheath securely holds the blade with almost no rattle. The set up is tight and you don’t have to jerk super hard to pull it out. The sheath has 6 latching points. You can latch the Ghostrike with paracord, onto chest rigs, MOLLE kits, backpacks and all sorts of stuff. Two slits allows you to attach the Ghostrike on your belt horizontally or vertically. It gives you tons of carry options.

The 2.313 inch blade is manufactured from AUS 8A stainless steel with a black coating. AUS 8A steel possesses high hardness and features high carbon content. These two ingredients give you good edge retention. It also has great wear resistance, toughness and does a good job keeping off rust and corrosion. Be aware that this doesn’t mean that the TDI is not 100% susceptible to rusting, especially in humid conditions. Taking care of it is a necessity. AUS 8 stainless steel is incredibly easy to sharpen, just use a portable knife sharpener to attain a perfect edge.

The knife has black Zytel handle scales that give you a secure comfortable grip. It’s also one of the strongest knife handle materials on the market without jacking up the price of a knife. This material is durable (resistant to abrasion or bending) and has zero maintenance because its nearly indestructible.
